Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh inaugurates the 101st store of Kendriya Bhandar

Dr. Jitendra Singh, Hon’ble Union Minister of State (Independent Charge), Minister of State (Independent Charge) in Ministry of Earth Sciences, Science and Technology, Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions (Prime Minister’s Office), Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Space, and Chairman of the Indian Institute of Public Administration (IIPA), inaugurated the 101st store of Kendriya Bhandar at IIPA campus in New Delhi on May 25, 2023. The store retails a wide variety of grocery staples and ready-to-eat food items.

Kendriya Bhandar is India’s largest public distribution organisation which operates under the aegis of the Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances & Pensions. It operates a network of stores in Delhi, Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka, Kerala, Daman, Goa, Uttar Pradesh, Uttaranchal, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Haryana, Punjab, and Chandigarh. Centre for Strategy and Leadership (CSL) is the Strategic Partner of Kendriya Bhandar.

Dr. Mukesh Kumar, Managing Director, Kendriya Bhandar; Shri Surendra Nath Tripathi, Director General, IIPA; Shri Pawan Kumar, Chairman, Kendriya Bhandar; Shri Amitabh Ranjan, Registrar, IIPA; and, Shri Vikas Sharma, Chief Executive and Director, CSL graced the event with their presence.

During the event, Dr. Jitendra Singh applauded the transformation of Kendriya Bhandar under the expert leadership of its Managing Director Dr. Mukesh Kumar. He said that because of the current efforts, the organisation has registered a growth of over 500 percent and increased its revenue from Rs. 750 crores to more than Rs. 4,000 crores.
