Union Minister Shri Amit Shah launches Six ODOP products in Bhopal

Shri Amit Shah, Hon’ble Union Minister of Home Affairs and Cooperation, launched six products developed under One District One Product (ODOP) concept of the PM Formalisation of Micro food processing Enterprises Scheme (PM FME Scheme) scheme in the presence of Shri Narendra Singh Tomar, Hon’ble Union Minister of State for Agriculture and Farmers Welfare, Shri Shivraj Singh Chouhan, Hon’ble Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shri B.L Verma, Hon’ble Union Minister of State, Ministry of Cooperation & Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region, Hon'ble Minister Shri Kamal Patel, Farmer Welfare and Agriculture Development Department, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Shri Arvind Singh Bhadoria Hon’ble Minister of Cooperative and Public Service Management, Government of Madhya Pradesh, Dr. Bijender Singh, Chairman, NAFED, and Shri Rajbir Singh, Managing Director, NAFED.

These ODOP products have been developed by NAFED and CSL with the support of Ministry of Food Processing Industries (MoFPI) under the PM FME scheme.

The products launched included: ‘Amrit Phal – Chatpata Dried Amla’ of Amla ODOP, Gurugram, Haryana; ‘Somdana – Ragi Cookies’ of Millet ODOP, Thane, Maharashtra; ‘Pind Se – Mixed Pickle’ of Pickle ODOP, Amritsar, Punjab; ‘Cori Gold – Chaat Masala’ of Coriander ODOP, Kota, Rajasthan; ‘Anaras – Spicy Pineapple Fruit Bar’ of Pineapple ODOP, Ri-Bhoi, Meghalaya; and, ‘Madhurmithas – Masala Jaggery’ of Jaggery ODOP, Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh.

A total of 10 brands and 20 products have been developed under the PM FME scheme by NAFED and CSL in record time. CSL is NAFED’s Strategic Partner and is supporting the project for product development, training, branding and marketing as the Project Implementation Partner.

The PM FME scheme aims to organise and upgrade Micro Food Processing Enterprises (MFPEs) in the country and is an integral part of the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s vision of giving a push to India’s local food manufacturing. To achieve this goal the PM FME scheme has adopted the One District One Product (ODOP) approach. Consequently, the ultimate objective is to formalise the micro food processing enterprises while empowering them to compete with national-level market players and achieve the Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of an Aatmanirbhar Bharat.

The ODOP products been manufactured following all latest industry standards and after extensive market research. The recipes have been developed by award-winning chefs and extensive training has been provided to MFPEs. High quality and healthy ingredients have been used keeping healthiness in mind and special emphasis has been put towards quality control through regular lab testing.

All the launched ODOP products are available at NAFED stores and on online platform www.nafedbazaar.com at an affordable price. These products are also available on major e-commerce platforms and modern trade channels.
